De Waal Park concert Sunday 17th March with Hot Water featuring Donovan Copley

The Final concert in the 2012/2013 Series takes place on Sunday 17th March with the dynamic Hotwater from 3pm to 4.30PM

“Hot Water must easily be one of the most exciting musical projects to come out of South Africa…” The Citizen

“Hot Water…South Africa’s most happening band.” Mail & Guardian (2012)

Hot Water was created by Donovan Copley to cook up and establish a unique and contemporary brand of South African music and performance. The band has achieved international recognition and acclaim on its tours in Europe and the UK over the past 5 years including a performance at the world-renowned Royal Carre Theater in Amsterdam in 2012.

Having carefully built a foundation that could be sustainable, Hot Water has recently been ‘discovered’ and offered an international record deal from Cumbancha “Discovery”, a leading independent label based in the US whose main aim is to “present exceptional music from around the world”.

Currently under consideration, this step would take even further afield Donovan’s vision and music which combines aspects of Johnny Clegg, Paul Simon, Cat Stevens and Bob Marley, yet maintains a distinctly broad and definitively South African root.

As a band and project, Hot Water has remained essentially an evolution – organic and collaborative – and currently comprises hand-picked and inspired musicians from the townships and suburbs of Cape Town.

Hot Water’s promise, both live and on record, is to leave people feeling good.
