CONCERTS IN THE PARK situated at De Waal Park Presents the The Rudimentals with support from the Gugulethu Tenors, The World of Birds, Congo Cowboys and BUSHFIRE.

Celebrated AFRICAN-SKA band The Rudimentals is a socially diverse, fun-filled act that strives to interact with people of all ages and tastes. This multi-layered musical offering is made up of highly accomplished, talented and entertaining musicians, representing a blend of youth and experience.

The band has also shared stages with some of South Africa’s top headliners, including Johnny Clegg, Lucky Dube, Hip Hop Pantsula, Freshlyground, Fuzigish; and toured extensively with the likes of The Wailers and legendary UB40….

Our headliner will be supported by Gugulethu Tenors, The World of Birds, Congo Cowboys and BUSHFIRE.

Tickets will cost R20.00 per person available for sale at Computicket and at the gates on the day of the concert.

Come and join us on Sunday the 28th of April at 13h00 at Cape Towns one and only band stand located within De Waal park, bring your friends and family along for a picnic in the park while enjoying the live music performance.

Hailing from the heart of Zululand, SAMA nominated Maskandi duo, Qadasi & Maqhinga, will be giving a Masterclass on ‘Maskandi’ music – one of SA’s signature traditional genre’s which is best known for its unique guitar style.

The duo will give live demonstrations on traditional guitar and concertina and discuss the following topics:

– The history of ‘Maskandi’

– How the genre has changed over time

– Different styles of Maskandi

– Song composition and arrangement

– The ‘izibongo’ – praise poetry

The Title of the Workshop is Understanding Your Voice: Tips And Tools Of The Trade.

RJ has coached Lira, Naak Musiq Tumi Masemola and Vusi Nova as well in studio vocal coaching for artists such as Danny K, Vicky Sampson current Idols winner Vincent Bones.

It will be from 10 -12 noon with plenty of time for questions.
